Cathy Jamieson (MP for Kilmarnock & Loudon)

Cathy has been Labour & Co-operative Member of the Scottish Parliament for Carrick, Cumnock & Doon Valley since 1999 and was Deputy Leader of Labour at Holyrood from 2000 until 2008. She was Minister for Education and Young People, then Justice Minister in the Labour Executive. She was elected to the Westminster Parliament in 2010.

Prior to election to the Scottish Parliament, Cathy worked in Local Authority social work departments and the voluntary sector.  She was Prinicpal Officer of the Who Cares? Scotland, the children's advocacy organisation. Born in Kilmarnock, she lives with her family in Mauchline.
