Housing is a major issue among Labour and aspiring Labour voters and has been consistently talked about as an issue within the party. New Labour improved housing for many yet there are still many challenges ahead ranging from young people trying to get on the property ladder, communities needing more social housing access as well as a housing market that is sustainable in the long term . The home is where the heart is, can Labour solve the British housing crisis?

The event speakers are:

  • Reply: Cllr Claire Kober, Leader of Haringey council
  • Panellist: Michael Stephenson, General Secretary, Co-operative Party
  • Chair: Cllr Patrick Diamond, Southwark council

This event is part of a series Progress is holding as part of the party’s policy review process. Each event focuses on a key area where Labour’s renewed policy offer will be crucial to its chances at the next election.
