The Scottish Co-operative Party believes in politics for people, we believe that power rests with the people and that is why we support the devolution of power. We believe that power belongs not in Westminster or Holyrood or even in Scotland’s town halls. Power belongs to the people.

That’s why I’m asking for your support in creating a more co-operative Scotland

We support a radical devolution of power which empowers people in communities right across Scotland. The policy of the Scottish Co-operative Party is to support Scotland’s place within the United Kingdom. Our position is not to support the status quo but rather to support a radically different fairer, better, more co-operative Scotland. We believe that this can be best achieved within the United Kingdom and in co-operation with co-operators throughout the co-operative movement across Britain.

The next few days are crucial to our vision. We are urging Scottish Co-operative Party members to support our sister party, the Scottish Labour Party’s United with Labour campaign. http://www.scottishlabour.org.uk/page/s/volunteer If you can, please volunteer to help ensure that we can create a more co-operative Scotland which empowers people and communities across our country.

If you are going to the Labour Party conference in Manchester please come along to our stall and say hello and please consider attending the Co-operative Party Conference in London on 11th and 12th October. There will be a strong Scottish flavour to the conference not least in a keynote address by our very own Johann Lamont MSP, the Leader of the Scottish Labour Party.

If I can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes

Richard
