Greenwich Co‑operative Commission
Call to evidence

Royal Greenwich has a long and proud history of co-operation and is home to one of the few local development agencies in the country as well as the biggest group of Co-operative Councillors in the country.

There is a good base of co-operative activity in the borough, but the question is what does the future of co-operation look like?

The Greenwich Co-operative Commission will allow those in and around the movement to reflect on best practice and explore a long-term vision for the sector that helps address some of the big issues residents and businesses face.

  • new co-operative start-ups and business transitions – to explore how we create a fertile breeding ground for co-operatives businesses to flourish in Greenwich.
  • community energy - to explore the benefits of establishing a community energy company for the benefit of residents in Greenwich.
  • social care - to explore how we encourage the establishment of social care co-ops in Greenwich.
