In the past, co-operators were often unable to find willing venues to hire. So instead they took their meetings into the great outdoors. Central Midlands are commemorating the Centenary of the founding of the Co-operative Party, by holding a traditional open air meeting and picnic at Walsall Arboretum on Saturday 17 June from 1pm.
…View an exhibition on the Party’s history; listen to speakers highlighting key moments from the past; discuss how co-operative solutions are seen as a very real future alternative…
Look out for the Co-operative Party gazebo near the Visitors Centre. Please bring your own picnic. Food can be bought at the on-site café, if needed.
The meeting is open to all members and non-members. All areas of Walsall Arboretum are accessible.
Driving directions: Exit M6 at junction 10 and follow all signs to Walsall, this will take you along Wolverhampton Road, Blue Lane which leads into the A4148.
