In a shifting world of work\, co-operatives have the potential to provide security\, fairness\, and accountability. \nThis online event will explore how co-operative models can harness emerging technologies for the common good\, creating democratic platforms that empower both workers and consumers.  We will discuss how the co-operative model can benefit freelancers\, the self-employed\, and agency workers with improved pay\, working conditions\, and flexibility. \nJoining us are Rose Marley\, CEO of Co-operatives UK\, on the importance and impact of freelance co-operatives and discuss how these can become more commonplace across the UK and Patrick Hurley MP\, the Chair of the Social\, Co-operative and Community Economy All-Party Group\, on the importance of the Government supporting co-operative growth and his experiences supporting new co-operatives prior to entering parliament.  We will also hear directly from a tech co-operative on how it has developed\, the challenges it has faced and future plans for growth. \nThis event is part of the Co-operative Party’s member-led Policy Process – which this year focuses on the ‘future co-operative economy’.
