Nomination Form

Nominations are now open for election to the BAME Co-operators Committee. The Committee will elect 5 members to fill vacancies, who will serve until 2026.

The Committee will be elected UK-wide by all members of the Co-operative Party BAME Network. However, no more than 3 candidates will be elected from a single region in England or from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

The Committee will have a gender balance, with no more than six male, female or non-binary members.

To be eligible, you must:
- Have applied to join the Co-operative Party on or before 31 January 2024 and not be in arrears.
- Identify as BAME and be a member of Co-operative Party BAME Co-operators.
- Complete and submit the form and statement below by noon on 1 December 2024.

If you are unable to complete the form on-line, please email networks@party.coop by 1 December so that we can arrange to complete this by phone before the closing date.

You may complete the statement (up to 300 words) in writing or by audio or video. Guidance on doing this is here. If you choose to use more than one format, the content for each must be the same.

Elections are also taking place for the (dis)Ability, LGBTQ+, Women and Youth Networks’ steering committees. You may put yourself forward for more than one council/committee but, if so, you must declare this on each form and complete a separate form for each election.

Other rules

Once verified as a candidate after the close of nominations, the candidates’ information will be published on the Party’s website and you may also promote yourself on social media.

You may not distribute any other materials, printed or online.

Candidates may not use access to the Party’s membership or networks data to promote their candidacy, nor may any other member do so on their behalf.
