After yet another failure of a private rail franchise and despite years of claiming they didn't have the power to do so, the Scottish Government has announced that ScotRail will be brought into public ownership.
But the Scottish Government needs to go further than just running ScotRail as 'an operator of last resort'. We need a different kind of public ownership: where passengers and rail workers have a say and a stake in the services they rely on every day.
ScotRail shouldn't be run by ministers at Holyrood: it should be democratically run by those who rely on it most. By reinvesting profit back into services instead of paying out to shareholders, we can transform ScotRail into the railway that Scotland needs.
Will you call on the Scottish Government to deliver a mutually-run ScotRail, run in the interests of the people of Scotland?
