It's time for a Right to Food

In the sixth-richest country on Earth, no one should go hungry.

Millions of people in the UK are struggling to feed themselves and their families, but the food poverty crisis in the UK is not getting the attention it sorely needs.

The UK is committed to eradicating hunger by 2030. But not only are we unlikely to meet that target, the problem is actually getting worse.

That’s why the Co-operative Party is campaigning for food justice and calling for a Right to Food to be enshrined in UK law.

The public agrees: recent polling shows an overwhelming 75% of the British public think there should be a legal Right to Food.
