Close the loophole: Protect our pollinators

Bees aren’t just a symbol of the co-operative movement: a healthy bee population is essential to our food chain, our ecosystem and our planet.

That’s why every time the Government has tried to exploit a legal loophole to allow the “emergency” use of banned bee-killing pesticides, we have fought to protect our pollinator population.

Neonicotinoids, a type of pesticide which is toxic to various forms of wildlife, is banned in the EU and in the UK.  However, in January, Conservatives ministers once again approved the pesticide for "emergency" use – just like they have for the past four years running.

We need to take action now to protect bees and our environment, by demanding the Government close the loophole that allows for "emergency" use and stop using this dangerous pesticide. Join us now in calling on the Government to end the use of bee-killing pesticides once and for all.
