Ask your MP to support Pride in Place

Across the country, neighbourhoods are set to receive investment through the government’s Pride in Place programme – a chance to rebuild local pride and community strength.

To make it count, people must have a voice and a stake in the decisions shaping their future. If you live in one of the neighbourhoods set to receive funding, we want you to have your say.

Join us in calling on MPs to ensure Pride in Place funding to delivers not just investment, but lasting community power.

I am really excited that our area is one of those selected to benefit from the government's Pride in Place programme. Ours is a community with real strengths - people who care deeply about where they live, who volunteer their time, support their neighbours, and work hard to make this a better place. But our communities have also felt overlooked and left without the tools and resources to shape our own future. As a member of the Co-operative Party, I am proud that our movement has always championed communities. Through our Community Britain campaign, we have made the case that community power matters to politics, and that giving people power and ownership in their community can be transformative. Pride in Place reflects that ambition. It is vital that we now make the most of this programme - not only the investment, but the opportunity for local people to have a voice and a stake in the future of our area. I believe giving people here a say in how funding is spent will help restore trust, pride and belonging. But we should also have our eyes on the long term - ensuring we make the most of this opportunity to build something that can't be taken away. Making the most of Pride in Place to rebuild our shared community spaces and put them into community hands will do just that. I would therefore be grateful to find out more about your work to support the implementation of Pride in Place locally, including the role of neighbourhood boards, and whether you will be considering the importance of community-owned and co-operative initiatives as part of the programme.
