At the Co-operative Party we know how vital the work of our (dis)Ability Committee is, in recent years they have helped shape our policy, held important events and encouraged more of disabled members to get involved. Always working to ensure all of our events, campaigns and materials are as accessible as possible We want them to continue being a key part of our organisation - want to play a part in it? As a member of the Co-operative Party (dis)Ability Committee you'll have an opportunity to raise the issues that matter to you whilst representing other disabled people from your region/nation, you'll get the support from our Co-operative Party staff team to run events and be involved in future Co-operative Party conferences and as we look forward to local elections, Scottish Parliament elections and Welsh Senedd elections - you'll be part of that policy development.
The current (dis)Ability Committee have prioritised Enabling disabled members to play a full part in the Co-op party, Providing information to disabled members that is relevant to their needs, bringing disabled members together to identify common problems and solutions, making non-disabled members aware of the barriers and discrimination faced by disabled members and increasing representation of disabled members at all levels of the party.

Nominations are now open for election to the Co-operative Party (dis)Ability Committee. The Committee will elect all 12 members, who will serve until 2026., who will serve until 2026.
The purpose of the Network is:
The Committee is crucial to an active and engaged Network. They set the Network’s programme of events, campaigns and budget for the year and convene meetings of the network. Normally, the Committee will meet quarterly, online.
The Committee is elected UK-wide by all members of the Co-operative Party (dis)ability Network. However, no more than 3 candidates can be elected from a single region in England or from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
The Committee will have a gender balance, with six members being female.
