Save the Household Support Fund

SaveTheHouseholdSupportFund

Do you feel better off than you did in 2021? Does the cost-of-living crisis and its impact on your family feel like a distant memory? No? We don't think so either.

Which makes it all the more staggering that the Government are planning to end the vital Household Support Fund in just a few months time.

Earlier this year through campaigning and lobby we managed to secure an extension to the Household Support Fund but at present, it will end in September 2024.

The Household Support Fund was introduced in September 2021 to help those in need through the cost-of-living crisis. As blow after blow hit UK households in the months and years following, the Co-operative Party successfully campaigned for the fund to be increased, expanded and extended to prevent thousands of people slipping below the poverty line.

Despite many people being worse off now than when the fund was introduced, the Government are refusing to confirm whether they will extend beyond the current expiry date of September 2024. This has left millions of people living in a state of uncertainty, wondering how they will afford to pay the bills without it come September.

That's why we're campaigning to save the Household Support Fund, and asking the Government to confirm without delay that the fund will be extended beyond September 2024.
