Voting opens for Scottish Co-operative Party nomination in Scottish Labour leadership As Scottish Labour elects a new leader, the Scottish Co-operative Party is asking members to vote on which candidate should receive our nomination. Richard McCready Political Officer 29th September 2017 Share 9 Tweet We were sorry to see Kezia Dugdale, one of our MSPs resign as Scottish Labour leader. We look forward though to working with Kezia in the future to promote co-operation in the Scottish Parliament and in the Lothians. We are now faced with a leadership contest between Richard Leonard and Anas Sarwar. Neither Richard nor Anas are Co-operative MSPs but we are pleased to say that both of them are long-standing members of the Scottish Co-operative Party and committed co-operators. To allow our members to make their minds up on this important issue we are holding hustings meeting with both Anas and Richard present on Saturday 7th October, 12.30pm for 1pm at Renfield St Stephen’s Centre, Bath Street, Glasgow. Hustings RSVP and information You will also get a chance to hear about our plans for our Scottish centenary celebrations, which are coming up in November. As an affiliate of the Scottish Labour Party we have the right to make a supporting nomination in this contest. If you are a fully-paid up member of the Scottish Co-operative Party you should have received either an email or a letter about this, along with instructions on how to register your vote in this contest, if you are a member you can vote here. We will be announcing the result of the ballot and our nomination on 11th October.
