We’re recruiting a new Assistant General Secretary to lead our membership and Party organisation functions, and be an important part of our Senior Management Team. The new AGS will lead the continued development of our membership strategy and journey, working with volunteers and staff to build a compelling membership offer that recruits, retains and motivates a growing membership, and ensures that our membership is representative of the communities we serve. They will also lead the Party’s activism strategy, identifying new ways to support and involve our members in our campaigns, policy development and local activity. The AGS will oversee the support we provide to our local, regional and national units, including line management of our team of regional organisers. That means the new AGS will work with our General Secretary and the National Executive to ensure we have the best procedures, policies and guidance, and that we deliver against our ambitious strategic plan. This includes overseeing the development of our operational systems, including HR, finance and IT. Digital Officer Expand It is an exciting time for the Co-operative Party, as we build on a record year for membership and look to further develop our offering to members, supporters and the wider public. To help achieve this, we recruiting a new Digital Officer. The postholder will help deliver our day-to-day digital communications output, using social media, our email mailing list and our website, alongside other digital and design projects as part of our wider communications strategy. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for visual design, social media savvy and the ability to turn around creative briefs and content efficiently and effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing digital and design experience within a political and campaigning context – producing content on important political issues and working to a busy cycle. You’ll be joining a small but growing team, with the opportunity to pitch ideas and shape and develop our creative and visual output. To support our growth and development, we are creating new Regional Organiser roles across the UK. The Organisers will support members and branches to deliver activism and campaigning at a local and regional level, working with the co-operative and labour movements to do so. They will develop accessible, engaging and positive opportunities for member activity, and grow the number of Co-operative Party candidates at the 2022 elections. The postholder will support members and branches in the London, East and South East regions.
