This time, the elections for the the South East region, Scotland & Northern Ireland and Wales will be for women only candidates. One Youth representative (under 27). These are elected by all members under 30. Two representatives of our Societies and affiliates (one man and one woman). These are nominated and elected by our affiliated organisations. For the 11 national and regional seats and Youth representative, we are inviting members to self-nominate. After nominations close on 6 February, Party Councils and branches will have an opportunity to endorse nominated candidates. To seek election as a Societies and affiliates representative, contact your Society or affiliate to request a nomination. The NEC sets the strategic direction for the Party and its policy and is also the Board of Co-operative Party Ltd., so its members also need to understand and take responsibility for the governance and legislative obligations of a registered Society.
