Richard McCready Political Officer (Scotland) 15th February 2022 Blog the Scottish Co-operative Party Share Tweet Time is running out to show your support for Rhoda Grant MSP’s Bill to enshrine the Right to Food in Scots Law. It is a disgrace that people are still going hungry in Scotland in 2022. Rhoda Grant has long campaigned for the Right to Food, and it is good to see Scottish Co-operative Party MSPs supporting this important legislation. Our councillors too have done a great job on tackling hunger, with councillors across the country supporting local approaches to solve the problem of food insecurity. But councillors have also been fighting for a new national approach. Recently, I was able to get Dundee City Council to support the Right to Food in Scots Law and to call on the Scottish Parliament to support Rhoda Grant’s proposal. You can join with me on this important issue. The Co-operative Party has produced a guide to responding to the consultation here. The consultation closes tomorrow, on Wednesday 16 February.
