There is a growing consensus that we need to change the way our economy works and how it delivers its rewards. Workplaces are changing, technology is evolving, personal debt is on the rise, and wages remain stagnant for the many while wealth is increasingly concentrated at the top. At a local level, the old trickle-down model of local economic growth isn’t creating wealth or jobs.
From regional banking and the ‘Preston Model’, to profit sharing and employee ownership, this Policy Forum will be a chance for local members to exchange ideas on how to tackle these challenges, and what would create a fairer economy here in Swindon.
Join Labour & Co-operative parliamentary candidate for Swindon Sarah Church and the Co-operative Party’s national policy officer Anna Birley to discuss your ideas on creating an economy where wealth and power are shared and help to shape Party policy.
