Join us in Exeter

as we bring together members and supporters from across the South West to discuss Climate Change, Energy & the Environment.

10am – registration opens

10.30am: the following sessions commence:

  • The challenge of Climate Change for our world  – with Steve Palmer, who has worked with National Meteorological and Hydrological Services of developing countries
  • The challenge of developing  local green energy  solutions – with Andy Extance, Director of Exeter Community energy and a scientific journalist
  • The challenge of safeguarding our environment – with Dr. Steve Aves, Associate Professor of Molecular Biology and  SERA
  • What we need to do nationally to meet these challenges –  with Charlotte Holloway, Labour/Co-operative PPC for Plymouth Moorview
  • Questions, comment and debate with panel of  speakers including Cll. Phil Bialyk, Labour/Co-operative leader of Exeter City Council and Cllr. Yvonne Atkinson, Environment lead Devon County Labour Group.  Chair –  Anna Birley, Co-operative Party Policy Office

1.15/2pm: Buffet lunch and networking

2pm: Workshops on:

  1. Developing policy on climate change led Anna Birley
  2. Environmental issues led by Steve Aves
  3. Energy issues led by Andy Extance

3pm: Feedback and recommendations for Co-operative Party Policy

3.15pm: Conclusion

This is a free joint event with the Labour Party and is open to non-members, so please share with friends, Labour Party and trade union colleagues etc.
