That means that there are now 938 Co-operative Councillors across England, Scotland and Wales - the largest group in our 104 year history! We also gained seats on more than 20 Councils where we had none - that includes places like Amber Valley, Bury, Cornwall, Devon, Gateshead, Isle of Wight, Maidstone, Rossendale, Rotherham, Southampton, Southend, Surrey and Tunbridge Wells. Our gains in these elections mean for the first time ever, the majority of councils now have one or more Co-operative Councillors championing our ideas, policies and campaigns. Some of our largest gains included Newcastle (+8), Warrington (+8), Oxford (+6), Rochdale (+6), Derbyshire (+5), Lancashire (+5), Oxfordshire (+5), Stroud (+5), Chorley (+4), Devon (+4), Greenwich (+4), Lincoln (+4), and Rotherham (+4).
