Earlier this year, the UK government reduced its annual aid budget from 0.7% of gross national income (GNI) to 0.5% and the recent budget confirmed that this cut to foreign aid will continue until at least 2024. This represents a decrease of between about £4bn and £5bn. Charities, NGOs and others have submitted evidence to Parliament detailing the likely cuts they need to make.
