Emma Foody Former Assistant General Secretary (Membership & Organisation) 5th July 2022 Blog Share Tweet Last week saw the start of our 2022 Summer School – a series of sessions for new members to learn and get involved with the Party. It’s an exciting time to be a member of the Co-op Party as we continue to grow in members, election candidates and co-operators at every level of government. One of the best things about being part of the Co-operative Party is that there are so many ways to get involved: from fighting for our winning campaigns to contributing to our policy process. But with so many ways to take part, it can sometimes be difficult for newer members to know where to begin. Our Online Co-operative Party Summer School is there to help you along the way. Throughout July we’re doing a series of short Zoom calls to help newer members find out who we are, what we do and how to get active. We are powered by the time and energy of our members, and we want to give them the tools to get active in the Party – whether you want to attend local meetings, join our Equalities networks, be a branch officer, take motions to your local Labour Party, meet like minded people, help in making our policy or you want to stand a candidate- there are so many paths that you can take, and we want to make sure all of them are well signposted. Each of the weekly sessions will be 20-30 minutes, so it won’t take too much out of your day. So whether you’ve already become active as a member, or you’re not sure how you can help shape and support our work, our Summer School is a great place to start, learn more and ask any questions you have.
