This public “in conversation” event, which coincides with the 2014 Labour Party Conference, will see Prospect’s Editor and CEO, Bronwen Maddox, in discussion with Caroline Flint MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, and Ben Reid, CEO for Midcounties Co-operative & Co-operative Energy. The conversation will address the key questions currently facing Britain’s energy market locally and nationally, and bring together industry experts and decision makers to discuss what the Labour approach to these issues should be ahead of the 2015 General Election and beyond.
At the event we’d like to focus on how Britain can meet its energy demands in a way that is secure and beneficial to the consumer. The panel will also explore how the UK can meet its carbon reduction and renewable energy commitments whilst attracting inward investment and benefitting business and communities beyond the EU’s current 2020 deadline.
