It is our favourite time of year again, Co-operatives Fortnight!

It is a chance to show people what co-operation is and why it is an altogether better way of doing business. As Convenor of the Cross Party Group on Co-operatives in the Scottish Parliament I submitted a motion to celebrate the co-ops across the UK that are doing just this; changing lives, changing communities and creating a better, more equal future.

A Co-operative Cabinet for Derby

The new Cabinet which I appointed at the AGM is comprised entirely of Co-operative Party members, we intend to transform the City for the better.

In Wales, supported by the Welsh Government the co-operative movement is going from strength to strength.

Together, the Labour and Co-operative Parties share the ambition of doubling the size of the co-operative sector, and steps like those announced at the recent Wales Co-operative Party Conference are helping to provide the blueprint for realising the aim

The Government must deliver on reform for leaseholders

The Co-operative Party has long campaigned for a better way to manage land and property, co-operative housing tenure, a strengthening of commonhold tenure and to protect leaseholder and renters from unreasonable costs. It’s time for Government to deliver.
