The North East and North Cumbria Co-operative Party Council has opened its application window for people wishing to be added to the list of Co-op approved candidates for selection as candidates for the local elections 2018 in Carlisle, Gateshead, Hartlepool, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Newcastle upon Tyne May 2018.
Being on the Co-operative Party approved list means that if you are selected by the Labour Party you can stand as a Labour and Co-operative Party Candidate. The Party Council provides some financial support to candidates who have been endorsed.
In addition, we will organise a Co-op Party campaign days for candidates, can offer support the printing of literature and provide guidance from local campaign specialists. We also aim to link up Co-op Party candidates from across the region to share best practise and offer support.
