Next May sees elections to London’s councils – and we have big plans to increase the number of Labour & Co-operative Councillors.
Across the country, Co-operative Councillors are pioneering new approaches in local government which ensures that people are put before profit and privatisation.
It’s an approach inspired by co-operative values, with local authorities, service users, and community organisations working in partnership. One in which local people at the heart of decision-making, and in which services are responsive to the specific needs of the community they serve.
Our Be a Councillor events talk you through the process of becoming a Labour & Co-operative Councillor and the support that’s available to help you along the way. We will take you through the essentials of being a co-op candidate such as logos, certificates and briefings as well as share ideas for campaigns and manifestos. There will also a chance to feedback about support from the Co-op Party that would help you as a candidate. I’m also really pleased we will be joined by Cllr Clare Coghill, Leader of Waltham Forest Council.
