Join us in Newcastle on Saturday 27 June for Community Britain: North — a day dedicated to the ideas, experiences and people shaping our region.

As part of the Co-operative Party’s summer series of regional conferences, this event will bring members together with local elected representatives and partner organisations to share real stories from our communities and explore practical co-operative solutions to the issues facing local government today.

From 11am–4pm, you’ll:

  • hear how the Community Britain campaign is turning local insight into national change,
  • discover inspiring examples of community-led best practice,
  • take part in policy discussions rooted in the realities of the North.

You can expect to hear from:

  • local speakers on key themes from recent Community Britain publications,
  • take part in Q&A-style conversations with local politicians,
  • contribute to the 2026 policy consultation,
  • learn more about how the Co-operative Party and its members are making a real difference in local government in your area.

A recent member survey highlighted a clear desire for more local activity — and this event has been designed with that in mind. Working with Party Council officers, we’re building a member-led programme that reflects what matters most to you and your region. More details about the programme will be shared soon. This is your opportunity to help shape the conversation and ensure the priorities of your community are heard.

Tickets are £15 and include a buffet lunch and refreshments. Come along, connect with fellow members, share your perspective, and help shape the future of Community Britain in the North.
