Being the Difference

In tough times as well as good, co-operative councillors are working to transform communities for the better.

From the community energy activists taking on the Big Six energy giants to the City which 'took back control' of its local economy, to councils working to root out modern slavery in their supply chains—Co-operative Party Local Government Conference is your chance to share ideas, network, be inspired & learn about how others are putting co-operative solutions into practice.

Coming hot off the heels of a busy set of local elections, Be the Difference Conference is a must for councillors, members, aspiring candidates and anyone else interested in building lasting change that starts locally.

Highlights

Sessions and break-out sessions will include:

  • Strengthening tenant voice in the private rented housing sector
  • Local procurement for social good in a post-Carillion era
  • Turning the Big Six into the big sixty thousand through locally-owned community energy
  • Reshaping local economies through community wealth
  • Leading the way in fighting modern slavery in our supply chains
