LocalGov

There's a transformation taking place in local government. Across the country, hundreds of Labour & Co-operative councillors are working to give local people a voice in  their communities, and a say in how services are run.

Held in association with the London Co-operative Party, this year's Co-operative Party Local Government Conference, Building Co-operative Communities, is a chance to meet fellow co-operative councillors, hear from inspirational speakers, and take part in workshops to help you take those ideas back to your council.

We are delighted that we are finally getting back together - in person - for this year's Conference taking place in London on Saturday 11 June, at Coin Street Community Builders (108 Stamford St, London SE1 9NH).

The event is open to all new and experienced Councillors, as well as those interested in local government. The conference costs just £10 and includes lunch and networking drinks.

Also taking place on the same day at the same venue will be the London Co-operative Party's conference - if you are a London member and wish to attend, you can find out more information here:  https://party.coop/event/london-coop-conference-2022/

The Format

This is your chance to hear from a series of keynote speakers as they share more on their pioneering work in local government and the government's levelling-up agenda.

The event will be fully participatory and will help you shape your work and campaigns in the year ahead.  You'll also get the opportunity to join in panel discussions and workshops with other Co-op Party councillors and community activists as we spotlight how co-operative solutions across the UK are tackling the biggest issues from inequality, hunger and housing to green jobs and high street regeneration.

Also taking place on the same day at the same venue will be the London Co-operative Party's Conference.  Do indicate on the registration form if you are interested in taking part in any of their sessions.  The registration fee will cover the cost of attending both events.
