Join us on Zoom on Saturday 4 July for a Yorks and Humber regional event — bringing members together to share ideas, experiences and real stories from our communities across our region

A recent member survey highlighted a clear desire for more local activity — and this event has been designed with that in mind. We’re building a programme that reflects what matters most to our members in Yorkshire and Humberside. This is your opportunity to help shape the conversation and ensure the priorities of your community are heard.

Programme highlights:

• We kick off the day with an energising welcome from Fraser Welsh, our new Assistant General Secretary, who’ll set the tone for collaboration, community pride and shared purpose.
• The Co-operative Party in Government: Since the 2024 General Election, the Co-operative Party has been working across Government to deliver on its ambitious commitments to co-operatives and mutuals. Sally Jameson MP will give an update on the progress made so far and the opportunities ahead as we continue to champion co-operative solutions across Government departments.
• Community Britain in action: we share powerful stories exploring the Community Britain campaign, highlighting how co-operative values are making a real difference across the UK by bringing people together to create stronger, more connected communities. With: Dave Berry – Sheffield Renewables, Claude Hendrikson – Frontline Self Build People and Powered homes Leeds and Land trust Ambassador and John Grogan – campaign to stop Yorkshire CCC demutualising
• Community Britain in Local Government: Councillors are playing a pivotal role working with community groups to identify, purchase and operate community businesses which serve the needs of local residents. We share real-life stories and experiences from power or opposition – and the challenges and solutions faced.
