Wider movement – Co-operative Party

The following societies and affiliates are currently subscribed to the Party: –  Central England Co-operative; Chelmsford Star Co-operative; CMS; Community Union; Co-operatives UK; Co-operative Press East of England Co-operative; Enabled Works; Glenhall Housing; The Midcounties Co-operative; Grafton Housing Co-operative Ltd; Revolver Co-operative; The Co-operative Group; Scottish Midland Co-operative; United Cabbies Group and USDAW.

Many of these, or their predecessor societies have supported the Party since 1917.  They can nominate Co-op Party members to our Party Councils and the National Executive Committee, contribute to policy and send delegates to Annual Conference and the AGM of Co-operative Party Ltd.

Each Society pays an annual subscription to the Co-operative Party and supports the work of the local Co-operative Party Councils in their region with a grant.  Some Societies pay this grant directly to the Party Council and may require an application, development plan or budget.  For others, such as the Co-operative Group, this is paid via Head Office.

If you are not sure which Society is engaged with your Party Council or how to get in touch with them, contact the Principle Six Officer in Party Support.

Encourage members to play an active part in their local co-operatives by trading with them, attending their meetings and events, and taking part in their democracy.
