Rhoda Grant

Labour & Co-operative MSP for Highlands and Islands

I was born in Stornoway, brought up in Wester Ross and live in Inverness. Therefore I have experienced the differing needs of our region. I worked in both the public and private sectors and for Unison.

The Trade Union movement brought me to the Labour Party, which in turn brought me to the Cooperative Party; whose principles resonate with the community solutions required to deliver services in our region. I was elected in 1999 and then again 2007 and 2011.

Pursuing equality drives me; your life chances should never be governed by where or to whom you were born.
