This was the Party’s first on-line AGM. Each local Party and affiliated organisation appointed one ‘voting delegate’, who was emailed a link to the voting portal at the close of the AGM. These votes are weighted in accordance with the rules of the Society. To approve the 2019 Board Report and Accounts This was carried unanimously. To approve the Auditors The NEC proposed Crowe UK to continue as the Party’s Auditors. In line with current best practice, tenders will be invited in 2021. This was carried by 38145 votes to 12. Change to the Rules of the Society To adopt the following change to the Rules of Co-operative Party Ltd: Delete: 10.6 Before a general meeting can do business there must be a quorum present. Except where these Rules say otherwise a quorum is delegates from 20 local parties or affiliate members, and one member of the National Executive Committee. Insert: 10.6 Before a general meeting can do business there must be a quorum present. Except where these Rules say otherwise a quorum is delegates from 40% of local parties and affiliate members, and one member of the National Executive Committee. This required a 2/3 majority of votes cast. This was carried by 38,125 votes to 32. To approve the individual membership subscriptions for 2021 The following membership subscriptions for 2021 were approved by 35,730 votes to 12, with 2,415 votes abstaining: Higher Rate: £5.20 per month or £62.50 per year Standard Rate: £3.20 per month or £38.50 per year Reduced Income Rate: £2.20 per month or £26.50 per year Youth (14-19) Rate: £3 per year The Higher Rate is a voluntary donation of £2 per month, that members can make on top of their Standard Rate membership. These contributions help us keep our overall membership rates lower and invest in our campaigning. To approve the Rule Book 2020 The Rule Book was approved by 37,972 votes to 185. Policy Documents Voting delegates also voted to approved the two Policy Papers debated in Annual Conference earlier in the week.
