This newsletter updates officers and activists on the work of the NEC. Please share this with your members but remember that this is an internal document, not to be shared externally or on social media.

The NEC has had two meetings since the October AGM.  The first covered the business agenda and the second was to consider the Party’s workplan and priorities for 2021. These two meetings replaced what would normally have been a full strategy weekend.

The Party’s strategy is set by the NEC and the General Secretary every three years, with the current Strategic Plan running from 2019-21.  This will be reviewed by the NEC in June next year and a new plan put in place from 2022.

Within the Strategic Plan, the General Secretary sets and manages the Party’s programme for the year ahead.  This is presented to the NEC each year, together with the budget.

The NEC discussed presentations on the overall workplan for 2021 together with communications to supporters and members, policy and campaigns, and elections.
