Dermot Mckibbin Labour & Co-operative Member and Leasehold Reform Activist The recent Labour Party conference has confirmed the Party’s policy of replacing the leasehold system by making the commonhold form of freehold title the default tenure. The 5 million leaseholders who live in England and Wales , often in marginal constituencies , will welcome such a proposal. Virtually all the English-speaking world has done away with the leasehold system.
30th October 2023 Call for action on Retail Crime Richard McCready Political Officer (Scotland) Urgent action is needed to protect shopworkers in Scotland. Along with Daniel Johnson MSP, the Scottish Co-operative Party has signed a letter to the new Chief Constable of Police Scotland calling for action to protect retail workers. We want to make sure that the powers achieved through Daniel Johnson's Protection of Workers Act are used to protect retail workers in Scotland.
