Branches and member activity and campaigning are central to the work of the Co-operative Party, and our goal of building a society where power and wealth are shared.

2021 is going to be an important year as we prepare for a bumper set of elections in May, seek to grow our local membership and activism, and strengthen our links with co-op societies, CLPs and other partners.

To help us deliver this, we’ve worked with the NEC and party councils to increase the support we provide, with each region and nation having a named staff member to support their work from January 2021.

The Team will be there to help implement your Development Plan and help your branches deliver on your priorities over the next 18 months.

You’ll hear more from our new colleagues in the New Year, and in the meantime feel free to get in touch if you have any questions for the Team.

The following staff will provide support to parties and member in the nations and regions:

  • East of England: Matt Partridge
  • East Midlands: James Butler
  • London: Matt Partridge
  • North East & North Cumbria: Stephen Stanners
  • North West of England: Gareth Dowling
  • Northern Ireland: Shane Brogan
  • Scotland: Richard McCready
  • South East of England: Matt Partridge
  • South West of England: John Boyle
  • WalesJohn Boyle
  • West MidlandsJohn Boyle
  • Yorkshire & the Humber: Stephen Stanners

As well as this we are delighted that will be welcoming Chantal Lee our new Equalities Officer to the Team in January. She’ll be helping us make sure that our Party represents the diversity of the communities we serve, and supporting our five member-led networks (BAME, (dis)Ability, LGBTQ+, Youth, and Women).
