The Co-operative Party BAME Network is holding a Holocaust Memorial Day online policy forum event on “The Fragility of Freedom: co-operative perspectives on racism and antisemitism”, on Saturday 27 January 2024, 6pm to 8pm.

We’d like to hear from BAME members who could speak on any of the following topics:

  • Eroding freedom (e.g. freedom of religion and freedom to self-identify, freedom of reproduction, freedom of movement, freedom of expression)
  • Risking freedom
  • Liberated but not completely free
  • Enjoying freedom
  • Vulnerability of freedom
  • Freedom today (examples given by HMD organisers are: Uyghur Muslims persecuted for their religion in China; Rohingya Muslims who have fled from religious persecution in Myanmar; Sudan: current situation after Darfur genocide, and more recent fighting).
  • The historical, legal, and Human Rights definition of the word ‘genocide’, and the current widespread political use of the word ‘genocide’ on mainstream and Social Media.

All members of the BAME Network are welcome to attend this event and you can register to take part by clicking on the link here.
