This free talk will take place as part of the AGM of Labour Heritiate and will be given by Stan Newens, Chair of Labour Heritage. Stan was previously a Labour & Co-operative MP and later an MEP and is a Co-op Movement historian.

This is a great chance to hear more about the history of the Co-operative Party – the event is open to the public, including those not currently a member of Labour Heritage.

  • Reflections on Aneurin Bevan by Francis Beckett
    Francis Beckett is a biographer & author of many books on the Labour Movement.
  • 100 years of the Co-operative Party by Stan Newens
    Stan Newens is Chair of Labour Heritage. He was MP, first for Epping and then Harlow, from 1964 to 1983 and a London MEP from 1984 to 1999. Stan is a Labour historian & an authority on the history of the Co-op Movement.
  • A history of the Labour Party by John Grigg
    John Grigg is Treasurer of Labour Heritage and a Labour historian.

Doors open at 1.30pm; the AGM Business Meeting will last 30 minutes from 1.45pm and we will then have speakers and discussion, with a mid-way break for tea.
