After balloting our members the Scottish Co-operative Party has nominated Jackie Baillie MSP for the post of Scottish Labour Party Deputy Leader.

Jackie Baillie has been a strong supporter of the co-operative ideal in the Scottish Parliament.  Most recently, she secured an amendment to the Scottish National Investment Bank Bill which made clear that the bank can invest in co-operatives.

Both Jackie Baillie and Matt Kerr are long-standing members of the Scottish Co-operative Party and both candidates provided excellent statements about why co-operators should support them for this post.  You can read their statements here.

The Scottish Co-operative Party wishes both candidates the very best of luck in this contest.  We look forward to working with whichever one of them is successful.

We remain clear, as both Jackie and Matt are, that co-operation and co-operatives need to be at the heart of the policies which the Scottish Labour Party promote.
